Whenever I ask people why they don’t stretch more, they tell me it’s because it hurts. I’ve never understood it because I always think about how good it feels to stretch in the morning or during the day after sitting for too long, and have long believed that stretching in workouts should feel just as pleasurable. That’s why I created Lastics.
There is a way to stretch that doesn’t have to be painful, and that can actually feel good. I’ll admit, Lastics is a bit more intense than a yawn, but it does leave you feeling relaxed, connected and exhilarated.
The idea is to exert less effort bending one part of the body toward another, but rather to gently stretch and elongate the muscle first and then reach one point of the body away from another. It sounds counterintuitive, I know. But it’s the closest thing to that wonderful tingly feeling that runs through our bodies when we respond to our natural need to stretch.
