Doing Tabata Squats

Tags: eric von frohlich | Leg Workouts | Squats | Tabata

I've been doing Tabata Squats in my classes. This is how you do them:
Grab a stopwatch - do 20 seconds of intense deep squats counting as many reps as you do - then rest for 20 seconds. Repeat for 4 minutes which will be 8 reps squatting 20 seconds and 8 10-second rests. Remember your lowest amount of squats over the 4 minutes. That is your score.
NOW, you'll want to improve that week over week.

We do tabata circuits in our bootcamp workouts but we'll normally do 2 to 4 different exercises during each 8 minutes.

Also when I have new campers I'll have them rest longer between exercises until they're in better shape.
